Q: If I participated in Last Poet Standing in previous seasons, can I submit again?
A: Please, we would love to see your continued growth as a poet.
Q: Do you have to be an English major or minor to participate?
A: No, all BYU-Idaho students are encouraged to submit their poems.
Q: What if I cannot attend to read my poem, can someone else read in my place?
A: Poets are expected to attend and read their own works. If over the course of the season, circumstances prevent you from attending, poets can arrange for someone to read their poem for them.
Q: How should I dress to present my work at Last Poet Standing?
A: Poets can dress however they feel is most appropriate. Please follow honor code standards.
Q: When will I find out if I am chosen to participate?
A: Poets chosen to participate in the 2013 season will be informed by e-mail Saturday, January 19th.
Q: How is the winner chosen?
A: Each week poets write a new poem, and perform it for an audience and judges. Poets are eliminated each week based on the votes of the audience and the judges. The winner is the last poet standing.
Q: Who sponsors Last Poet Standing?
A: Last Poet Standing was started by the English Academic Society, because it reaches out to all students across campus it is cosponsored by BYU-Idaho Talent Activities.
